Bill Gates Live at CES at Las Vegas

Today when I was surfing on the net, I just went to www.microsoft.com and wow.......I saw the link to see Bill Gates speech Live at CES 2007 @ Las Vegas. And fortunately it was exact 9:30 pm my time (6:30 pm pacific time), so I was connected exactly on time.

After downloading one .asx file in a minute I started to watch the speech. And let me tell you the whole speech was very impressive.

Here are the highlights which I remember:

• Some cool windows vista features like setting up any video as a wallpaper.
• Vista search functionality.
• Vista photo organizer.
• Very solid Media center experince with capability to see sports, television shows, movies etc.
• Navigating in virtual earth using XBOX controller was deadly.
• Nice demo of Halo 3 which is going to release on XBOX 360.
• Gaming on vista enabled pc and some one on vista enabled pc can play game against someone playing on XBOX 360.
• Some add ons to XBOX 360.
• Windows mobile.
• Zune.
• And finally a nice demo of future technologies by bill gates....

Looks like 2007 will be a great year for M$

Indian search engine

There is a nice indian search engine called http://www.byindia.com/. It also has youtube like video search/upload functionality. Search is basic but too fast!!! You can also search Directory, People, Blogs, Classifieds, Videos etc. and even News. Good search engine if you want to search things about India. It was acquired by Orlando, Florida based Web2Corp Inc. in September, 2006.

Nice site to listen Hindi music

Today I come across a nice site to listen Hindi music. Its Dhingana. I was using Raaga before but I think this is better than Raaga. It does not have those annoying pop-ups and also you can have nice uninterupted music. Site interface is clean. You can even maintain your smart list and also can rate songs. Also has decent search functionality.

Programming in "D" ?

Hi,

Just now I came to know regarding a new programming language - D. The version 1.0 is expected in early Jan, 2007.

Its by Walter Bright of Digital Mars.

Its focus is on combining the power and high performance of C and C++ with the programmer productivity of modern languages like Ruby and Python. Here is the open source community for D Programming Language where one can jump in for some development, source control and participate in forums. There is a nice comparision chart of D with other languages like C, C++, C#, Java and by comparision the language looks stronger than others [Comparision chart].

Its nice to involve at early(?) stage so just jump in and show your skills!!!

As this is first day of a new year, thought to start my blog. So writing my first post. Now lets see where I am able to take it up to?
